AXO & PKA “Dodging Domestic Violence” Dodgeball Tournament

We have two groups. One of our teams of Five Brothers participates in three matches against an assortment of teams. Our team won the best two out of three and moved on to the Semi Finals. They tried there best but couldn't dodge the last team. They played a good game and had alot of fun.

Work Party and Clean Up

Today was the first warm day of the New Year. Brothers came out to Hemlock and cleaned up what winter left us. Since the Brothers were gone during winter break Hemlock was unattended till today. We were able to clean up all the trash that had randomly found it way onto the property and clean up pine neddles that had fallen.

Back to school Spring semester

After another full fall semester  including the Game days, Halloween, Christmas, Fall Date Party, and Alumni, Brotherhood, and Philanthropy events, the brothers of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity wrapped up finals and left campus to enjoy winter break with reunions at Hunting Trip in South Alabama and at the Outback Bowl in Tampa to see the tigers win 3 times.

The brothers of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity returned to campus, having made preparations for Rush Week with events including Clay Shoots, Casino Night, and Outdoor-sports and camp-fire Night, working towards another strong rush class. Other events planned include Ski Trip, Sinter Formal, The Big Event, Rodeo, and A-Day. The brothers of the Kappa Sigma  Fraternity look forward to the challenges and opportunities that Spring semester will bring, ready to stand out for another quarter.

A Greater Cause: Beta-Eta brothers improve Child Advocacy Center

The brothers of the Beta-Eta chapter of Kappa Sigma continue to show their dedication to the community and Auburn University through many different projects and methods. More recently, the brothers demonstrated “A Greater Cause” at the Child Advocacy Center of East Alabama in Opelika, AL. It serves children ages 3 to 17, who have been the victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, and ones who have witnessed violence. The executive director of the center, Cleone Brock, met the brothers upon arrival and explained the operation of the center. She also noted that more than 875 children a year are referred to this center, and little funding is provided.

The team of 10 brothers, which included the Grand Scribe, Grand Procurator, and the Grand Treasurer, went right to work. The brothers pulled dead bushes out, spread pine straw, trimmed the hedges and trees and cleaned the windows around the center. After the work was finished, Mrs. Brock treated the brothers to homemade muffins and lemonade, furthering the good feeling the brothers had attained for helping the community. A picture of the Beta-Eta brothers, along with a story of their service was posted on the center’s homepage. The brothers of the Beta-Eta chapter have since then decided to volunteer monthly at the center.
