Kappa Sigma is a men’s social fraternity that has been in existence in America since 1869 and our chapter was founded in 1900. Rush is very important for us. We are looking for a well-rounded man who can contribute not only to the fraternity, but to Auburn and its people. The most important thing about pledging at Kappa Sigma is self-development.
The Fraternity should complement and enhance the educational mission of the host institution.
The Fraternity is committed to fostering a close cooperative partnership with all colleges and universities where chapters exist. The Fraternity should promote academic achievement and assist each member to achieve his academic potential. By helping members adjust to the college environment, we can help them pursue their degree goals. Co-curricular activities can be as valuable as the classroom experience; hence, the Fraternity should promote involvement in all aspects of campus life.
The Fraternity should promote the ideal of Brotherhood.
The creation of lifelong friendships is a primary benefit of Fraternity membership. The Fraternity fulfills the need of students to belong to an extended family and frequently provides the opportunity to enhance those personal relationships through group living situations. As Brothers, our members have an obligation to have a caring concern for the welfare of our members. Brotherhood is a lifetime commitment; therefore, we should encourage strong alumni-undergraduate relationships for the mutual benefit of the students and the alumni.
The Fraternity should actively contribute to the personal growth and development of its members.
We teach young men social skills that will benefit them throughout their lifetime. The multitude of leadership opportunities available through the Fraternity prepares members for success in their chosen careers. Chapters should organize well-rounded programs and strive for excellence and quality in all undertakings.
The Fraternity should promote ethical behavior and decision-making.
The lessons taught from Fraternity ritual should be incorporated into the daily lives of the members. Kappa Sigma’s are expected to act as gentlemen at all times, and the Fraternity must demand the highest standards of personal conduct. The Fraternity should instill a sense of responsibility and integrity. The dignity of all persons shall always be respected; intolerant or abusive behavior cannot be tolerated.
The Fraternity should encourage service to others.
Members, individually and collectively, should work toward the betterment of their campus and community… and in so doing contribute to the betterment of themselves.

Service
Kappa Sigma wants you to participate in rush. Being in a fraternity is a huge stepping stone and can help you get more out of life. We (and 250,000 other initiates) believe that Kappa Sigma will best benefit you in the long run. If you or anyone you know is interested in rushing Kappa Sigma, click on the contact tab to send us your contact information. We’ll keep you in touch with all of the upcoming rush events near you.
Fellowship
At Kappa Sigma, we take fellowship quite strongly. From hanging out at the house between classes to weekend road trips to away football games, we are looking for men that will keep our traditions of brotherhood alive. Kappa Sigma is nationally one of the top five largest fraternities in the world. We have over 250,000 initiates who have joined together to create lifelong friendships and unmatched experiences. Attend rush and you’ll notice the difference: Kappa Sigma is where you’ll find a loyal brotherhood that is second to none.
Take a look at our event calendar online. Give us a visit any time of the year, not just during rush. For more information, call the house at 334-502-8698 or sign up for rush information on our website at our rush sign up page.
Leadership
Leadership is a special characteristic that all people can admire. Kappa Sigma works hard to help develop leadership skills in our Brothers and pledges so that they may succeed in today’s society. Both Brothers and pledges work on projects and may hold offices in the chapter. We want to prepare our Brothers to the best of our abilities. Kappa Sigma Brothers from all around the nation have aspired to high positions. Such as Jimmy Buffett, Robert Redford, Ted Turner, Jerry Jones, Bob Dole, and Sonny Perdue. Several leaders have come from our chapter some of whom are Ben Gilmer (Former President, AT&T), Dr. Luther Duncan (Former President of Auburn University), and Dr. Paul Haley (Member of The Auburn University Board of Trustees, the largest building on campus Haley Center is named in his memory) Kappa Sigma leaders have become senators, governors, and CEOs. Come take a look at our chapter and see what we have to offer. Let Kappa Sigma help you develop leadership and the abilities to shape our world.
Scholarship
College can be quite an academic challenge. Kappa Sigma has promoted scholarship since its original founding in Bologna, Italy over 600 years ago. We realize that the true reason for college is to learn. We place grades and schoolwork ahead of all fraternity events. Pledges are required to attend weekly study hours to help the transition from high school to college. Our pledges have the best resource available to them at all times: students who have experience. There’s no better way to learn than with help of those who know what they’re doing. Our majors range from mechanical engineering to forestry to political science. Come visit Auburn and stop by the house. We’re always looking for a few good men.
Service
Do you enjoy giving back to your community? If so, you’d be a great match for Kappa Sigma. We contribute to Auburn and the surrounding area in different philanthropic activities. In fact, this past March, we sponsored a Blood Drive to help build up local blood supplies. We also help out with other fraternities and sororities on campus, in order to help a variety of people. Other events that will be benefiting miscellaneous charities and foundations are our "Sweetest Tea in Auburn" contest, which will be judged by a panel of local "celebrities"; Greek Week, which involves all fraternities and sororities on campus. By joining Kappa Sigma, you’ll not only be benefiting our community, but bettering yourself.
We are currently in the process of planning events for Fall Rush 2009.
We plan on having events in Mobile, Atlanta, Montgomery, and Auburn.
Its never too early to look into Kappa Sigma.
